The origin of The Harvest Companies dates back to 1988. At that time, a company was formed by partners to make small residential mortgages to borrowers who could not get financing from traditional sources.

In 1991, two of the current principals formed Harvest Mortgage in order to broaden its lending activities to include a structure to allow for greater flexibility inits lending activities.

In 1994, Harvest Mortgage began to make joint venture loans to developers and real estate investors. Since that first joint venture loan for $50,000, Harvest has been involved in financing the acquisition of over $300,000,000 of commercial and residential real estate. Harvest and its affiliates have acquired real estate in Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida.

In 1997, the principals of Harvest led the company into a bold new direction with its first development of senior housing.

In 1999, Harvest formed a sister organization to build residential single family housing. The next year Harvest added a division to develop residential lots to meet its own demand as well as a healthy need for lots from other homebuilders.

Today, Harvest Companies is a diversified real estate organization engaged in residential home building, land development, and construction of senior housing in Georgia and Tennessee.
